Configure a project

Configure a project

A project is the context IntentLoom uses to decide which Reddit conversations are worth your attention. Refine its signals as you learn from the opportunities it finds.

Outcome: You will know which settings to adjust when results are too broad, too narrow, or missing the conversations you care about.

Refine your project settings

After creating the project, open Project settings for the active project. Start with the settings that most directly affect opportunity quality.

General

Use General to update the project name and product description. You can also generate a fresh set of project details from the product URL when the website or positioning changes.

Keep this description current. It is the product context used alongside your other signals when IntentLoom qualifies conversations.

Keywords

Use Keywords to manage the terms matched in Reddit posts and comments. There are separate keyword sets for posts and comments, so you can tune them for different kinds of conversations.

Start with the language customers actually use:

  • problems and jobs they are trying to solve;
  • category terms and workflows; and
  • evaluation phrases such as comparisons, alternatives, or requests for a recommendation.

Avoid overly generic terms. They widen the match pool and can bury useful conversations under unrelated results. Add, edit, or remove keywords as you review what arrives; keyword inspiration can provide additional suggestions, but you should still review them before adding them.

Competitors

Use Competitors to add, edit, or remove the competitor websites associated with the project. Competitor monitoring is for understanding the market and identifying relevant discussion—not a reason to force a reply into every comparison thread.

SEO

Use SEO to manage a separate set of keywords for SEO opportunities. These are not the same as the post and comment keyword rules. Keep them focused on queries where a useful contribution to a Reddit thread could continue helping searchers over time.

Block list

Use the Block list when a subreddit or Reddit author repeatedly produces irrelevant results. Blocking removes that source from future ingestion for the project.

Tip

Review a few examples before blocking a source. A consistent pattern gives you a clearer signal that the source is not useful for this project.

A simple tuning loop

Project configuration improves through review, not one perfect setup session.

  1. Start with the generated context and a focused set of terms.
  2. Review new opportunities in the Posts and Comments inboxes.
  3. Keep signals that surface useful conversations.
  4. Refine or remove signals that create noise.
  5. Block consistently irrelevant sources.

AI summaries and relevance scores can help you prioritize this work, but they do not replace your judgment. A project should reflect the conversations your team can genuinely help with.
